Ablaze
I met you when the world was on fire and the Himalayas were golden
Becoming anew
Its nice
To take you in the bite sized doses
You're a lucky gem to find me in a space where I dwell freely
I don’t think of you like I imagined I would
I'm glad that you are you
And I am me
Separate yet similar
I forgot what it was like to laugh again
To grin without recoiling into overthinking
All the ways you could disappoint me
Aligning with all the ways you could mislead me
Yet I find that it is about me
And you are on your own journey
That may or may not ever accompany me
With a light heart, I welcome you
I bestow upon you a doubtless horizon, hugging the rim of that bright smile of yours
Is my own vulnerability trickling over to you, my love?
Or does the taste of my lips tempt far too much?
For us both, I don’t think we expected our worlds to collide
Like I said, didn’t they tell you the world was on fire?
